8/6/96 - Dating etiquette

Resolution: Sticking to what I said about not having to put up with this shit, tonight is Matt's last chance. I'm calling him at work this morning to see whether we're still on for "Lips Together, Teeth Apart." If he says "yes," and actually shows up, then fine. If not, and he doesn't make and effort to make another date for the very near future, then it's "buh-bye."

It seems to me that in the beginning of a romance/affair/fling, the two people involved should be putting a lot of energy into each other. One of the main ways this is expressed in this busy world we live in is the telephone. [This ersatz Miss Manners style is cracking me up.]

I left messages Sunday and yesterday, and no sign of the boy. I thought we had a pretty good week, but now...

If he doesn't come thru tonight, I probably won't go to Fathom on Wednesday. I've been indulging in the incestuous gay scen a lot lately, and I need some time off from the drama. Plus, I'm broke enough, and have drunk enough lately, to need to apply the brakes to clubbing.

Of course, this all goes out the window if Matt shows up tonight (with the right attitude)...
