In the heat of battle

[I subscribe to this thing called the Squid List, which tells me all about arty and culturey activities going on in San Francisco. Camper has a point about Burning Man types; I get the feeling that if I started going to a lot of the Squid Listed events, I'd start seeing a lot of the same people. What does it say about me that I've been subscribing to this list for over a year, and have only gone to one event?]

[Thank you, Jonno, for reminding me of this photo! My ex, Ben, had it clipped from, I think, an old Life magazine and framed it. I haven't thought of it in years. I always wondered who had the presence of mind to take the shot (photography not being as spontaneous as it is today), and about its history after that? Beautiful.]

[So, maybe the circle of friends model, a la, well, "Friends" or "Tales of the City" is just a leftover from the days of college, and adults only have meaningful relationships one-on-one. I wish someone would've told me sooner.]
