[The big gay summer concert season is about planned: Janeane Garofalo at the Warfield; Bjorn Again at same; whatever they’re calling the queer Lollapalooza at Shoreline. NEWSFLASH: Sinead just dropped out. Do we really want to pay that much money to watch Neil Tennant and Marc Almond stand around?; the Dippish Mods at, I think, Concord; maybe Barenaked Ladies again at Shoreline (although three years in a row may be a bit much). And most definitely NOT Madonna.]

[John made up a word last weekend: flambuoyancy. I’m not sure of the definition yet, but I think it has to do with a big queen in a good mood.]

[Will you hate me if I confess that I’m one of those kids who spelled good, er, well in school, and who still takes smug, ugly satisfaction in seeing brilliant writers make typical spelling or grammar errors (e.g., definitely, weird, etc.)? Will you still love me if I confess that some of my bitter envy of their abilities is ameliorated thereby, even as I make errors of my own? I was happy to see Dean spell barbecue correctly today. That one drives me crazy! (Oh, God, horrid flash to Heather Chandler’s English teacher praising her correct use of the word myriad in her suicide note. Kim Walker, RIP)]
