Civil Saturday

[Addendum to yesterday's rash political pronouncements: I guess I need to add that the white elephant in the middle of that particular room is economics. Civil religion, like all other forms, has money as its inalienable (unalienable?) engine. So what else is new? I still don't know whether that makes any or all of it wrong.]

[Another damn gorgeous day in S.F. This is the sunniest June anyone can remember: usually, we're socked in with fog more days than not from May to August. John and I are celebrating - after a filling but overpriced lunch at Max's near Union Square - by staying indoors and cleaning this pigsty of an apartment. Tomorrow, however, I have every intention of going to visit my ocean. Darling, it's been ages! You haven't changed a bit!]
