The Johns

[Breezy, sunny, weekend in San Francisco (mostly for you, Chay; it's your kind of weather day), our last visit from John H. before he leaves his job that includes the fringe benefit of frequent trips to California. We'll miss the other fringe benefit as well: an expense-accounted lunch today at Zuni Cafe, scrumptiously trapped in an 80's timewarp of California kwee-zeen. Sorry, I know every course was a cliche, but my meal of Caesar salad, shoestring fries, and organic burger with Gruyere on focaccia was delicious. Tonight, perhaps Club Rendez-Vous' drag show, and tomorrow, can I drag the Johns to the Dore Alley Fair?]

[The Johns are out shopping right now, while I have some alone time with laundry and the Internet. I got a bulletin from the Haight: the Clash's Joe Strummer and his new group was doing an in-store appearance at Amoeba Records, and it was so crowded, the Johns couldn't shop. They left, as neither really cares for punk (I know, I can't believe it either), and were trolling the record stores in the Castro.]

Blogstalker, you probably have a close personal friendship with this guy as well, but guess which ex-Motown one-hit-wonder whiteboy from the 80's drove us cringing from his show at the cabaret last night with his boring patter and tired songbook? While he can sing, the sugar really has very little bite...]
