October 02, 2001 - 10:16 AM Fleshing Out [Yes, that was a crazy, crazy weekend. NOW John and I can settle down to being the serious people we know we should be. Sigh. How many times have we resolved to do that before? But how often can you be sick of being sick?] [Actually, I had fun. An all night party Saturday at Harvey's (a friend, not the restaurant/bar in the Castro) followed by a little sleep before venturing solo to Folsom Street, crowds and heat not being John's strong suits. One slow sweep down the street before hooking up fairly effortlessly with Leah, Andrew, Travis, and Hank, then hanging out in the shade behind Julie's Supper Club. Yes the shade: we wimpy San Franciscans cannot handle 90 degrees, no matter how little we're wearing. The only person I ran into was my buddy Terry from school, all 22 and dewy in his leather vest and orange hair. Ah, youth. A hellishly slow cab ride back home (SoMa to the Tenderloin via the Western Addition?!), and lounging with Patrick and Leah back at the apt. I'm still tired.] [Now, back to homework. My Legal Writing and Research instructor says my synthesis needs fleshing out. What?! Me, a lazy writer given to shortcuts?!] [Later: In re a certain recent Blogasm thread: one learns at least as much about oneself when one's own site is removed from someone else's links list, as has happened to me at least twice in the last week or so, as when one does it to someone else. Hmm.] | |
