Negligent Test Writing?

[Just to explain the righteous Mulher's comment in my guestbook: my Torts exam on Thursday included a rather...timely hypothetical question regarding negligence on the part of American Airlines security and the subsequent explosion of a flight from Chicago to San Francisco. Chills, not least because I just flew A.A. from O'Hare to SFO less than a week ago. I'm not sure what my professor was thinking, with the specific details. The atmosphere at New College in re the "war" has been odd. Obviously, since it's a hotbed of sincere leftist feeling, the place has made several moves questioning the wisdom of the powers that be. However, this latest veer by the Torts prof...doesn't seem to be quite on point.]

[As I left the exam Thursday, my arm hurt so bad, and I was so drained from the experience, that it didn't even occur to me to compare "wasn't THAT weird?" comments with my classmates. I remember getting a frisson when I first starting reading the question, but then, like any good exam taker, I was too involved in the points of law to really trip. They say they want us to ponder the political implications of the law, but I can't help but think that throwing a question like this at students taking their first-ever law school exam but one was a bizarre and tasteless move.]
