January 05, 2002 - 11:28 PM Peninsular Angst [Brief thanks to all who wrote sent encouragements via e-mail and the guestbook. It did take a bit to write that; it's good know someone cares.] [Onward, which was the whole point: as the ever pithy Mulher says, I cannot wait one more damn minute to get my grades. This torture ought not to be borne by any normal person. Yes, I know, "normal" has never been a priority for me, but still...] [Today was spent tooling about the Peninsula looking for a Best Buy store. We were told by several usually reliable sources that there was one somewhere in the vicinity of the hellmouth that is the Serramonte mall. Not only did we not find one there (after being told by two directory assistance operators and a courteous Daly City gas station attendant that there was one in South San Francisco), we had to schlep all the way down to San Carlos (nigh upon the freeway interchange near where John once worked for the now-defunct Excite@Home), spending well more on gas and rental car fees than the $50.00 gift certificate my delightful parents gifted the boyfriend with at yuletide. HOWEVER, a lovely, sleek new stereo is now hanging from the underside of our kitchen cabinetry. So I guess it was all worth it, or something...] [And if you think that I didn't remind him more than once that we could have gone online and found the closest store before even leaving the house, then you obviously have never been in a relationship.] | |
