And what's in YOUR inbox?

[Several interesting items in my inbox today...John's and my obsession last year with Kirsty MacColl gets fed by Yahoo UK & Ireland...also from the boyfriend, a link to Rolling Stone's Best of 2001 telling us what we already knew: that several critics also loved new albums by some of our 80's faves (as did Choire n' Philo: yes, Sheena Easton rocks our house as well!)...an interesting Economist article from Max about English as an eradicator of global culture...some fantastic correspondence with the no-doubt-tanned-and-relaxed 8 Legged DJ...and finally, my first correspondence generated by this site from a fellow who attended Sonoma High, the year after me. Strange and wonderful to be contacted out of the blue, especially by someone who I felt at the time to be intimidatingly brilliant, and he turns out to have followed the same career path upon which I've just embarked. Oh, will he be hearing from me in he coming months...]

[Oh, and a week late: Julia Phillips, RIP. After reading her (and Armistead Maupin's Maybe the Moon), any fancies I had about wanting to go the screenplay route went right out the window. Hollywood sux.]
