Land of the 'Fraid, Home of the %$#@'d

[Old news, I suppose, but Americans United for the Separation of Chuch and State has the best FAQ I've seen so far about the Pledge of Allegiance decision. While I applauded the decision the day it came down, I also thought it a little badly timed, since the resulting brouhaha overshadowed the next day's potentially more serious U.S. Supreme Court ruling regarding private school vouchers. As Sandra Bernhard lamented over a dozen years ago, "We live in such reactionary times. When is this right-wing paranoia gonna end?"]

[Speaking of, SF Gate's Mark Morford (the author of the indispensible Morning Fix) manages to combine his scathingingly entertaining style with serious advocacy in a column about our lovely government's newest monkeyshines - "reviewing" the Posse Comitatus Act.]
