August, A Month Without Holidays

[Quick update before heading off to the S.F. main library to do a little overdue research for my law journal article...]

[Gathering for Harvey was Friday at Malcolm and Lisa's. It felt like a typical party of Harvey's except everyone was dressed a little more nicely and in more sedate colors, and because, of course, he wasn't there. It felt like he'd walk in any second, complaining about not being able to find the right outfit.]

[Gave notice at the law firm on Friday. Turns out they're not going to be able have use for only a part-time receptionist, even though I'll only have classes two days a week this year. The job search begins anew...]

[Cranky times around the apartment. Too many visitors, a death, and unsettled details of all sorts seem to have John and me on each other's last nerve. (Luckily, Bart, in his low-drama way, is not part of the problem.) Time for a vacation? From San Francisco, if not from each other? How to do it, when he's working a couple of shifts of 2nd and 3rd jobs, and now's the time for me to start getting ramped up for school to start? These are the questions we're asking around here.]

[Speaking of, off to the library I go, ho ho...]
