Lord Huntington of Upper Tenderloin Expelled In Reform Putsch

[Another insight gleaned from standing in line the other day with Violet: maybe we need to get rid of that phrase, "the exception that proves the rule." Why should an exception prove a rule? If there's an exception (or more than one), why not just get rid of the rule?]

[I tell ya, when she and I get together, the sparks just fly.]

[Today's my last day at le Summer Temp Job. I'm sorry, on one level, because I've never had a job (even at my low point at the property management office, i.e., the last year I was there) that has allowed me to surf the Web with such singleminded impunity. No more checking personal websites every ten minutes for updates. No more (or greatly, greatly reduced) vapid signing of guestbooks and message boards. No more reading the Guardian obsessively for any further signs of House of Lords reform. An era truly is ending.]

[On the other hand, like the hereditary peerage, I'm being forced to get, or resume, a life. So there's that.]
