Kay Ar Oh KEWWWWW!

[Great, now I know how I'm gonna spend a chunk of time on this. (Via David, who knows a thing or two about 80s alternative radio.) When I was in high school, there was a KROQ-twin in San Francisco named the Quake. (All locals of a certain age and taste heave a sigh...) I never was into it - after almost a decade asleep at the radio, my New Wave/postpunk education only really began near the end of this list's run, thanks to some intensive tutelage by Jessica. We could barely receive KROQ in Santa Barbara, but we tried, and whenever we took jaunts to L.A., we knew we'd conquered the Conejo Grade ("last In'n'Out before the Valley...") when Sluggo came in loud and clear.]
