Something To Look Forward To

[Is this the kind of week it's gonna be? I was sure, sure, that I was on at 7 a.m. today at the Cute Victorian Hotel Around the Corner. I declined to go to last night's Halloween party in my building (the one my sister invited me to because a. we never see each other, not that I could see her face inside the Krusty the Clown mask she sported for the evening, and b. she thought it would be polite since we were letting her crash on our couch afterwards) because I had to work in the morning. I actually studied for once, getting thru a large chunk of executive and legislative privilege in ConLaw, because I had to work in the morning. I was asleep by 11 p.m. on a Saturday night because I had to work in the morning.]

[I strolled in at 6:45, feeling good about myself for all the above reasons and because the return to Standard Time meant an extra hour of sleep. The Big Gay General Manager With The Questionable Taste in Clothes had brought donuts, the night bellman had been accosted by "someone on drugs" at 5:30 that morning, there were 50 checkouts (a lot, but I'm Super Front Desk Man, and can handle ANYTHING!), and I was feeling pretty good about the day. Then Lisa comes in, asks what I'm doing there. I check the schedule, and find I'm not on it.]

[Sure it was delicious to crawl back into bed with John (who'd been working all night on his music, and had only just crawled into bed with me), but is this the kind of week it's gonna be?]
