[Fruit in the Family Tree: Yesterday, I was quite pointedly not working, and came upon a distant cousin's website. (It's amazing what Google and a little patience will do...) Cuz, a man I've never met, but whose name I'd heard spoken by my late grandfather, had a family tree up, and there was my name and all my family's. I emailed Cuz and gave him details, and he forwarded the message to another Cuz, this one in his mid-60s, and about to celebrate 35 years with his partner. My first gay relative, very touching.]

[Had a pleasant discussion with Violet today about Boontling (to which I was exposed ad nauseam as a Scout attending camp every summer in the Anderson Valley), and word coinage in general, and forgot to make my point about the various innovative forms of the word "email" (see above).]

[These and many other strategies for postponing studying for finals, including writing this entry, have done wonders. Sigh.]
