[Kate seemed eager to festoon John and me with leftovers last Friday. The only foodstuff not in excess seems to have been stuffing. (Or do you call it "dressing?") We even got sweet potatoes (or yams - I know some clever soul is eager to tell me the difference, but I'm really not that interested.) When I asked her if she wanted her plastic containers back, my sister said, "No, these are just the cheapo ones from the supermarket."]

[There was a time when the "nice china" and the "nice flatware" were signs of a holiday dinner. Now we have the "nice Tupperware." Petroleum products über alles.]
