Two dollars for 15 minutes at the cafe around the corner...

[Sunday morning's rant distracted me from the fact that I haven't given a real update here in too long. While the landline won't go live until tomorrow, I can still give a short "what's goin' on" while sitting here at the famous Cup-A-Joe at Sutter and Leavenworth...]

[Yes, I graduated from law school. It was nine days ago, and the day's buzz and the evening's inevitable letdown have worn off. Considering how horrendous my last year was in many ways, I don't yet feel as good about this accomplishment as I probably should feel. The fact is, the breakup made all my other efforts in the past nine months come out at about C-minus levels, and I'm not thrilled about that. (We'll see how my last report card looks...)]

[Also contributing to my ambivalence has been my Bar review class, the first two sessions of which I attended last week. The instructor's delightful vocal resemblance to Jerri Blank notwithstanding, I'm getting more and more apprehensive as I realize how much law I have to relearn. The cliche metaphor I'm going with on this one is, the path may be clear-cut, but it's very, very steep.]

[Lastly, I turn 35 in nine days. A few of you will say "so what?" A few others will be sympathetic. Me, I say it's a milestone whose approach I haven't had time to give the assessment it probably warrants, and now it's too late to do anything about it (like sign up for a waiver.)]
