I Saw My Shadow, And Spring Is On The Way

[I spent my day off yesterday doing unto others, and felt completely justified in lounging this morning away in refracted sunlight, lolling about eating my equivalent of bonbons and bathing in The Line of Beauty by my man (and Man Booker's man) Alan Hollinghurst.]

[This has been the season for catching up on some serious novel reading. Already down this winter: Infinite Jest, David Foster Wallace (finishing that felt like a major achievement, but I loved it); Father of Frankenstein, Christopher Bram; The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay, Michael Chabon; now, Hollinghurst, then what? As Shonen Knife sang so long ago about public baths, "I'm looking forward to it."]

[Mmmm, bonbons. Mmmm, Thatcher-era London decadence. But now, to work.]
