Saved

[Finally got around to seeing the movie Saved last night. I'm not entirely sure what I thought going in, but it was a bit more teen-genre than I had expected (i.e., more Mean Girls than Drop Dead Gorgeous, no bad thing). If you grew up "religious" in a way that required a radical rethink, or know and love someone who did (like I do), you'll probably enjoy it. Who is this "Jesus" person anyway? Anyone your society needs him to be, I guess. Now that's unconditional love.]

[Macauley Culkin: now officially hot, even though he doesn't look much different than in Home Alone. Oh, dear. Mandy Moore: when will I stop being surprised when performers who originally got their start in fluff turn out to be good actors?]

[I watched it with someone who was trying to mainpulate me into doing something I was tempted to do but knew I'd regret later. I don't know if this person is always like this (we'll see if he calls back), but I'm glad I said no. No regret for the "missed opportunity," and also none for letting someone use me. The second regret lasts longer, and I'm interested to see whether the relief performs similarly.]
