It's Good To Find A Metaphor

[Every parent tells you not to pick at a scab if you ever want it to heal. Every child picks, picks, picks anyway.]

[I've been doing that lately. I've so much wanted to get an answer to a question that I've been pick, pick, picking away, not remembering that if you keep doing it, the sore might eventually heal, but you're likely to leave a scar.]

[I picked for the last time today, at least at this particular scab. I remembered to ask myself the question, "What do you think is underneath that you want to risk a scar?" The answer: nothing that picking will reveal.]
