Hot, sour, content

[True truism: Chinese food. 1:00-ish PM, we of the FNC (for a little while longer) ordered from the excellent Bamboo on Polk (when was the last time Chinese takeout excited the imagination?), and I ate a...healthy amount. Hot & sour soup. Chicken with fresh basil. General Cho. Hunan lamb. Eggroll. "No one for that last eggroll? MMRCKRNNCHCKL."]

[Work, work, work, the afternoon through, but about five, I was feeling a little rumble. "Already? You gotta be kidding, belly!" I went down to the bar and munched a few strawberries Sean had lying around. Just now, realizing strawberries wouldn't do it, I sauntered nonchalantly, nonhungrily, over to the other office, saw the wreckage of lunch where we'd left it, and just reheated a big bowl of the soup. It had most of the tofu and veggies unidentifiable to occidental eyes left in it, and looked something like a Klingon meal. (RIP, James Doohan.)]

[I wonder what pleasure receptors are humming when we say something hit the spot? Mine are firing on all cylinders right now. Yum!]
