Way Better Than Wayne Newton

[In the last four days, I have:]

[-applied for a temporary editing job at Law.com;]

[-driven a late 90s black Mercedes (borrowed) all over San Francisco;]

[-sang selections from the Chicago movie soundtrack, loudly and very off-key, for my mother's amusement;]

[-tasted wine in the Sierra Nevada foothills' Shenandoah Valley district;]

[-felt alienated at an Indian casino (I hate casinos and always have; this one didn't even serve booze);]

[-eaten a huge ribeye steak, the most red meat I've eaten at one sitting in it's gotta be more than a year;]

[-started reading Alison Weir's biography of Eleanor of Aquitaine;]

[-watched long-and-well-grown women fling underwear at Mr. Tom Jones (some men, too);]

[-lost my cell phone for the first time;]

[-realized I'm no longer acclimatized to the heat in which I grew up;]

[-worried about the future, and resolved to try not to do that so much any more.]

[Et vous?]
