Thankful

[Last night at the writers studio we went around the table and talked a little about what we're thankful for. My contribution, while sincere, wasn't exactly original. I've since thought of a list that I don't know if I've seen anywhere else before.]

[TEN THINGS I DON'T GENERALLY ENCOUNTER, CONSUME OR PARTICIPATE IN, BUT WHICH I'M GLAD ARE OUT THERE (in no particular order):]

[1. Long-lived musical acts like Los Lobos, AC/DC, Dolly Parton, and Gladys Knight;
2. Really obscure microbrews from the Pacific Northwest;
3. Saturday Night Live;
4. Triple-A roadside assistance;
5. Forest rangers;
6. Hominy grits;
7. Freshwater cetaceans;
8. Flower shows;
9. Glitter make-up;
10. Museums devoted to esoteric topics in out-of-the-way places.]
