Stop The Presses

[Men, right? I tell ya.]

[I have a decision to make.]

****************

[Others have lives too, and last night, my parents celebrated forty years of married life together. They included my sister, my brother-in-law, and me in their celebration. We had a very swanky dinner at one of the local obscene gourmet beefatoria, Harris'. They make a big deal over their aged beef, and certainly charge you for the privilege of eating some.]

[It was absolutely delicious. But better than the carnivorous excess was the company. Chris has observed that my family seems tense around each other, and I think he's right to some extent. But last night we slid into a comfortable and ebullient place that only people who have known each other forever and who basically like each other can create and inhabit. (No, it was NOT just the booze.) I'm lucky.]

[Today: laundry, housekeeping, rest after what was a pretty tumultuous week, and some thinking.]
