Pretty Little Head, Big Ugly Hair

[I left my umbrella on the 19-Polk this morning. Luckily, I'll have the use of Boss-Man's vehicle for the next couple of days, so raindrops won't be falling on this pretty little head. But I have to ask myself in situations like these: is THIS the kind of day it's going to be?]

[Speaking of gray skies, it occurred to me this week that exactly thirty years ago, I was tripping around the British Isles with my grandparents. On Thanksgiving 1976 at my great aunt's in Los Gatos, they floated the idea of taking their angelic seven-year-old grandson on their upcoming six-week trip to Europe with them. Mom and Dad were dubious: wouldn't I be too young to enjoy it? I wouldn't shut up until they relented, and I went.]

[This would be that famous (to me) trip in which I first saw the video for ABBA's "Knowing Me, Knowing You" on Welsh TV. The next time I saw it, in about 1992, I remembered every detail. Note that this was England 1977, a rather eventful year for music, and all I remember is ABBA. H-O-M-O-S-E-X-U-A-L.]

[Speaking of young homos and music, when I woke up Easter morning in Sonoma a couple of days ago, my mother said I had Sanjaya hair. There are so many things wrong with that statement, I don't even know where to begin.]
