It Does!

[Tonight with Sean at the Pilsner, engaging in the perennial discussion about "types," I declare once again that I don't have one, since...]

[ME: "I like...awl kinds of guys..."]

[SEAN: "We like the cars/the cars that go boom"?]

[M (nodding, grinning, downing second pint): "We're Tina and Bunny and we like the Boom!"]

[S: It's "Tigra."]

[M: Whuh?]

[S: Not "Tina"; "Tigra."]

[M: That's what Allen says, too, but I'm not convinced. You know I'm gonna go look it up later on tha intarwebs.]

[S: STOP CALLING IT THAT, YOU GEEK! Only "bloggers" call it that!]

[M: Who's a geek? You managed to work in the phrase "suborbital ridge" while throwing shade at that guy who left the patio just now, probably because of you.]

[S (whipping his head around like Linda Blair riding the teacups at Disneyland): He left?]

[M: You read too much science fiction. I'm starting you on Burr after you finish the latest Kim Stanley Robinson.]

[S: ---]

[M: "Tigra," huh?]

[(It is, in fact, "Tigra" - Ed.]

[S (out of nowhere): "Do-on't stop...belie-e-vin'"]

[M: ---]

[S: ---]

[M: Journey Happens.]

[Later (but related): Happy International Friends' Day, everybody! I like that some part of the world has set aside a day to celebrate the kind of relationship I'm more and more coming to realize is the most exalted in my own life. It would make me happy if this day surpassed Valentine's Day in popularity.]
