[R.I.P. Madeleine L'Engle. As one of the commenters wrote on Metafilter, I'd give a lot to be the kid reading A Wrinkle In Time for the first time again. Actually, I think my first time was with Mrs. Kettler reading it to our fourth grade class. I ordered all three of that trilogy from the book club and read them again and again.]

[Do teachers still read out loud to their students? Mrs. Kettler read The Island of The Blue Dolphins to us, as well, and a couple others I can't remember. I'm determined to read a lot to the Niece Audrey when she's able to understand more than "what's this?" Soon.]

[Going to see the Giants beat the Dodgers at AT&T Park tonight. Yay...it's sunny. I wore a blue shirt today, though; hope I don't get mauled as I walk by the cheap seats when Allen and I make our 4th inning stroll around the park.]

[Dad has to have another heart-zap next weekend, so I guess I'll be taking the ferry up to Larkspur again to keep Mom company and help out where needed. Maybe I'll make sauce Bordelaise this time.]
