You Saw It First On Red Room

[Amy Tan's first blog entry EVER blows away one's concept of her as a wispy, ancient-Chinese-secret-spouting Earth mother. Turns out she's funny and cranky as anyone else.]

[I remember seating her a couple of times at the Friendly Neighborhood Cabaret, and she didn't seem all that ethereal then either; she just wanted to get her group seated, get cocktailed up, and watch Rita Moreno sprawl squawking on the piano in a yellow boa like a demented, Puerto Rican Big Bird.]
