Popularity Breeds Contempt

Violet (yes, I'll still call her Violet here, even if her name is now better known than Madonna's) came rushing into our office at about five this evening as two of my coworkers were laboring over the endless task of author moderation and I did whatever it is I do. [We couldn't ask for more, obviously, and as Violet, marketing guru Naomi, and I pored over and parsed every word, giving voice to the occasional whoop, the moderators watched as one... by...one ... new author requests started to trickle in. We left at six only because the last coworker with keys had to leave and let us out.]

[Tomorrow should be innnterersting, especially since the Copy Chief is moving on to other pastures, and I'm about to be saddled with a lot more work.]
