[There's something to be said for replacing the usual indigestion-inducing whipped-cream-frosting cake from Safeway with delicious samosas from Bombay Ice Cream on Valencia for a coworker's birthday. While those little deep-fried-potato-and-pea-filled wedges o' heaven certainly are no guarantee against stomach acids, they provide a more substantial lunchtime birthday punch.]

[Speaking of newly minted people no longer in their thirties, Himself sounds well enough to be visiting the city this weekend. That's good, since trekking out to his parents' in the far East (Bay), no matter how important the cause, was having less and less appeal. Not that I won't do it going forward.]

We need to get McCain and Nader on Red Room, by the way. We noticed that sales of Obama's book have skyrocketed since he joined the site, while McCain's have remained flat. Of course that's why!]
