[Watched Sarah Palin accept her party's nomination for vice president last night. Was admittedly wrapped in a comfy fog of sentimental admiration for her folksy, brassy style. Then I realized that this is exactly what I used to feel when listening to Rush Limbaugh during the first Gulf War as I delivered pharmaceuticals to skilled nursing facilities all over the greater Santa Barbara area: entertained, while disagreeing with all talking points. I realized immediately that this warm, delicious butter that was melting all over my critical faculties is sort of infotainment that most Americans experience all the time, and think they are informed.]

[While it's funny and all to mimic Wonkette and scramble "Sarah Heath Palin" to spell "Ha Ha Alpine Trash," we do underestimate her appeal to our own peril.]
